Today held prime examples of time vs money and cost vs benefit. It goes to show that much can be seen and experienced while still traveling on a budget.
I dare say that on this RTW trip, we’ve missed out on very little due specifically to costs. In fact, in many cases, we’ve experienced more.
I will admit that my idea started with a photograph. I cannot remember where I initially saw the backdrop of Mt. Bromo, and it doesn’t really matter. My point is that this is potentially the first time that I was influenced to visit a place based solely on a picture.

We parked our scooter near the entrance to the Lubok Semilung Recreational Park, and followed the paved pathway into the park for nearly ten minutes. We eventually reached a large blue board at the start of the hike saying ‘Tangga Helang Seribu Kenanganan’ meaning ‘Steps of a Thousand Memories’.
