I am the middle child of five, growing up on a small farm in North Dakota, where it was survival of the fittest.
We are oceans away from anything familiar, roaming the world, yet still feel a sense of obligation to do or see certain things.
I am not sure if we view doing this thing as a rite of passage, or not doing it as a potential future regret. Either way, there is so much hype wrapped up in specific world-renowned places and a substantial amount of undefined pressure to visit.
This was truly a one-of-a-kind experience. The size and gracefulness of these creatures was amazing to behold at such close proximity.

Through a friend we were told of an epic journey called Tao Philippines. The Tao expedition is an adventure through the Palawan islands of the Philippines on a banka boat. It is not a typical all-inclusive beach vacation, a wait-on-you-hand-and-foot resort, or a massive overcrowded cruise ship.
Family time is always an interesting time. The bigger the group, the more interesting. Little ones certainly add a level of craziness as well.
